The Gemba HR Practice

"Gemba" is a Japanese term meaning "the real place" where the actual work happens like a factory shopfloor, a shopping mall; a restaurant; a law firm, a place where value creation happens and a product or service is created for customers.

The Gemba HR Practice deals with the management of one of the key resources of a business “People”. This resource is often described by business leaders as the most important for business success and the ultimate source of competitive advantage. You can replicate technology; systems and finance but it is difficult to replicate a winning team.

We at the Gemba HR Academy of People Practice create this winning team of happy, productive people for organizations through People ACE (Available; Capable; Engaged). We hire the right people; develop key enablers to motivate; develop and deliver for the success of our client organizations.

Our team members have been human resource practitioners from different industries and geographies, their knowledge and expertise in different aspects of Human Resource Management enables them to diagnose; design and deploy customized HR interventions for the maximum impact and value addition to our client organizations.

Founder's Note

I founded GEMBA HR ACADEMY OF PEOPLE PRACTICE with a clear belief that strong people practices are central to business excellence. As an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur from the Class of 1998 with specialization in Personnel Management, and with over 25 years of experience in Human Resources and Industrial Relations, I have had the opportunity to work closely with diverse organizations across India, the UAE, and South Asia.

Throughout my professional journey, I have led strategic HR and industrial relations functions across both multinational and Indian organizations. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how deeply people practices influence organizational performance, culture, and long term sustainability.

Through GEMBA HR ACADEMY OF PEOPLE PRACTICE, my vision is to bring practical, execution focused, and business aligned HR solutions to organizations. Our approach is rooted in real world experience, market insight, and a strong commitment to quality and accountability. We work closely with our clients to design HR frameworks that are not only compliant and structured, but also scalable and impactful.

I also founded and moderate the Gemba HR Forum on LinkedIn to encourage knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning within the HR community. This reflects our belief that strong HR practices evolve through dialogue, shared experiences, and professional collaboration. At GEMBA, our focus remains on partnering with organizations to build resilient, people centric, and future ready workplaces that drive sustainable growth and excellence.
